Located on 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa, this site offers solitude in a natural forest setting for those seeking a beyond-the-norm camping experience. For those who come for sport, the lake is well known as a prime fishery for kookanee salmon.
Emergency medical/dental/optical services are available in Eureka, approximately 12 miles to the southeast; Kalispell, 55 miles southeast of Eureka; and Libby, 70 miles southwest of Eureka. Full services are also offered at all three locations as well as the neighboring towns of Rexford and Fortine.
Basic Directions
From the Tobacco Plains boating area, travel Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa) by boat, approximately 3 miles to the site. This camp is nestled in timber, .5 mile south of the US/Canada border.
