Great Falls Travel Information
Great Falls is a convenient launching city for the recreational
traveller interested in exploring the upper Missouri River and the
eastern rocky mountain front. The area was founded around the
confluence of the Sun River and the Missouri River and is rich in
frontier history. Great Falls is also home to several nationally
recognized museums, namely the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail
Interpretive Center the CM Russell Museum, one of the most prominent
western art museums in the US.
Great Falls can be reached easily from I-15 and is also a prominent
stop on Amtrack's Empire Builder Line. Great Falls offers a variety
of accommodations and dining options, including a slew of Bed &
Breakfasts that have been established in the renovated mansions of the
historic downtown area.
