During the winter months, Red Lodge turns into a quaint and busy ski town as Red Lodge Mountain is located only six miles to the west of the town center. Red Lodge Mountain offers great terrain for skiers & snowboarders with over 2700 vertical feet of terrain and over 225 inches of annual snowfall. For visitors looking for an aerobic workout there are a couple of Nordic skiing options; Red Lodge Mountain host the Red Lodge Nordic Ski Area, with groomed trails and rentals on-site. For visitors with their own gear, the trail system at the Beartooth Nature Center located on the north edge of the town of Red Lodge is another excellent option.
