This is the place to come if you are looking for bouldering. "Classic" seems to be the word that best describes the many problems filling the gambit from v0-10. There are beginner problems here but the difficulty for folks learning is that the rock is very gritty sandstone that will tear through soft fingers. If your fingers can take it or if it’s just an afternoon trip, Flagstaff Mt. is well worth the effort and brings the rewards of climbing in a historic and famous area for the sport.
As if the bouldering were not plentiful enough, there is also a lot of technical climbing to be found around and it is for the most part very easily accessible. Top-rope friendly, the climbing here is known for its powerful feel more than its scenic beauty and the climbs have a lot of strong-man maneuvers and photo-finishes.
