Description

This site is located directly adjacent to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa. Although not forested, this area is a favorite for many and has the distinction of receiving numerous yearly visits from travelers in neighboring states.

This site is located in an open area and has no designated camping units. Picnic tables and grills are available, as well as a paved parking area for boat trailers. There are both high- and low-water boat ramps on 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa). The area is popular for its viewing esthetics of the lake, which is a prime kokanee salmon fishery.

Contact the Campground Hosts in case of emergency. Medical/dental/optical and full services are available in Eureka, 21 miles northeast, or Libby, 48 miles southwest. Full services are also located in Rexford, 16 miles northeast.

Basic Directions

From Rexford, travel 16 miles south on State Highway 37 to the campground sign.

From Libby, follow Highway 37 north for 48 miles.

A narrow, fairly steep, paved access road will take you to the site. Pilot vehicles are recommended for over-length units and buses.
