This walk-in site is located in an open forest/grassland type atmosphere adjacent to Swisher Lake. It is very serene and an excellent getaway for those seeking solitude.

Undeveloped boat launch, fishing access, trailhead parking for horse trailers, secluded campground. This site is located in close proximity to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa.

Emergency services are available in Eureka, 7 miles southeast. Medical/dental/optical and full services are available in Eureka; Kalispell, 60 miles southeast; and Libby, 70 miles southwest.

Basic Directions

From Eureka, turn south on US Highway 37 and travel for approximately 2.5 miles to the junction with Sophie Lake/Tetrault Lake road. Turn north onto this route and follow for 5 miles to the gate at the Swisher Lake entrance. Parking is available for four vehicles. A .3 mile foot and horse trail leads to the site on the northwest shore of the lake.

There is a trailhead for horses .2 mile past the campground gate. No loading ramp is available.
