Set in a valley below the dramatic folds and peaks of the violet blue San Jacinto Mountains lies the Mission Hills - Gary Player course. The Gary Player course is an alternative to the Pete Dye Course and is generally easier for the average golfer to play.
The golf course is a study in contrasts and twenty acres of lakes, 25 acres of desert type plantings in non-play areas, four waterfalls and 6,000 tons of natural and artificial rock make this course truly unique. The design intent focused on providing fun and enjoyment for the golfer by balancing wide landing areas and subtly contoured greens with the challenging elements of water and the characteristic winds of the Palm Springs desert.
The golf course was the site for the 1996 Senior PGA Tour qualifying school and is part of the luxurious Westin Mission Hills Resort.
