Days 1-2 Mammoth Hot Springs
Meet in Bozeman Our trip gets off to a rollicking start with a half-Day white-water rafting excursion on a Class II-III section of the Yellowstone River Splashing is highly encouraged! Hike to Mammoth Hot Springs’ famed terraces—dramatic steaming limestone formations in vibrant shades of pink, yellow, orange, green and brown.
Day 3 Canyon
On foot, explore Norris Geyser Basin, home to Steamboat Geyser whose plume has been known to reach 300 feet Bike to Canyon, passing open meadows where bison and elk can often be viewed.
Day 4 Grant Village
Hike through open meadows and stands of lodgepole pine to one of the park’s most dramatic features, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone Care for an ice cream treat in Canyon Village?
Days 5-6 West Yellowstone
Shuttle to the Upper Geyser Basin, home to the world’s largest concentration of geysers, including the granddaddy of them all, Old Faithful Pedal alongside the Firehole River, where the steamy waters are warmed by hot springs near its banks and below its surface En route, choose to stop at thermally active Biscuit Basin and Fountain Paint Pots Go for a morning spin around Earthquake Lake, named for the magnitude 7.3 earthquake that struck the area in 1959.
